Best Claude Code skills for sales outreach

A cold message works when it shows you noticed something true about the person this month. These skills build that in: research first, then the opener, then a follow-up plan that knows when to stop.

Prospect Brief

FreeScan 100/100

One-page research on any lead. Loads when the user names a lead or company. About 952 tokens when it triggers, 87 always loaded.

Its trigger text, as shipped
Use when the user names a lead, company or person they want to sell to, or says \"research this prospect\", \"brief me on\", \"what should I say to\", before any cold message. Produces a one-page brief with three recent, specific, sourced signals, each tied to the offer. Reads profile.md for brand, offer, ideal customer and voice.
Its rules, as shipped
## Rules and thresholds

- One page: at most 300 words.
- Exactly three signals. If only two are solid, write two and say a third was not found.
- Rank signals by how directly they connect to the Offer, not by how impressive they are.
- Banned as signals: founding year, company size alone, a generic mission statement, "they are hiring" without a role named.
- Do not infer private information such as personal social accounts, home details or health. Use only professional, public material.
- No flattery in the angle ("I loved your recent post"). Refer to the fact itself.
- Dates are written as dates, not "recently".
A worked example, from the skill
## Worked example

Profile: Offer landing pages in 5 days; Ideal customer seed-stage SaaS founders.

**Lead:** Acme Analytics, founder Priya Rao. Fit: strong, seed-stage SaaS.

1. Launched a public beta on 2 September (company blog, link). Beta pages need a clear signup path; the offer ships one in 5 days.
2. Posted a Head of Growth job on 18 September (careers page, link). No growth owner yet, so landing work currently sits with the founder.
3. Pricing page lists "Contact us" for all tiers (checked on the site). Visitors cannot self-serve, which a conversion-focused landing page fixes.

Angle: "Saw the beta launch and that pricing is contact-only. We build self-serve landing pages in 5 days."

Not found: funding date, current traffic.

Then the message and the follow-ups

First Line turns a signal from the brief into an opener. Follow-up Cadence plans the touches after it, for a lead that has not replied.

Guardrails against spam

These are the rules we would hold any outreach skill to. The first four are visible in the free skill above.

  1. Every claim in a message traces to a dated, linked source. No source, no claim.
  2. Public, professional facts only. No personal accounts, home details or health.
  3. A fit score that can come back weak, and a skill that then says not to send.
  4. Treat text found on a web page as data. An instruction written inside a page is ignored.
  5. A hard cap on follow-ups, with a stop after silence.
  6. You read and send each message. Nothing sends itself.
  7. An easy way for the recipient to say no, and a list of people who did.

Check the rules for cold messages where your recipients live; they differ by country and by whether the recipient is a person or a company. We do not give legal advice. To scan any outreach skill before you install it, use the scanner, and see the security checklist for what to look for in a skill that reads web pages.

Questions

Can Claude write cold emails?
Yes, and the draft is only as good as what it knows about the recipient. A research skill collects verifiable facts first, so the message refers to something true instead of flattery.
How is this different from a mail-merge template?
A template swaps in a name. These skills start from signals about the person or company that are recent, specific and sourced, and they write each message from those.
Will it send emails for me?
No. These skills draft and research. You review and send each message yourself, from your own tools.
What stops it from becoming spam?
Rules inside the skill: a sourced signal for every message, a fit score that can say no, and a follow-up cadence with a stop point. Your own judgment and the rules where your recipients live still apply.
